Features
Create Virtual Intersection Curves From a Polygon Mesh
You can extract virtual intersection curves (character lines) from polygon meshes.
Virtual intersection curve extraction
This function extracts virtual intersection curves (character lines) from polygon meshes measured from clay models during the body design examination phase of automobile and motorcycle design. Create a virtual intersection curve by reference to the polygon mesh curvature.
Illustration of software operation
- Edit the polygon mesh created by measuring the clay model
Edit the polygon mesh’s hole-filling, smoothing, and so on to modify it to a smooth polygon mesh.
- Polygon mesh curvature display
Select a curvature value that represents the features of the surface geometry.
- Virtual intersection curve extraction by reference to the polygon mesh curvature
Both manual extraction and automatic extraction are possible. Virtual intersection curves can be repaired using editing functions (connecting and smoothing) of the virtual intersection curves you have created.
